but Bush gets away with literal genocide
Literal genocide? Please explain.
i went to my dad's house for christmas.
it was the first christmas we celebrated together since i was 5 years old.
it was my kid's and [freedomloverr's] very first christmas ever.. .
All I can say is that your sister is brainwashed. There is nothing original in what she said to you. She said the same stupid things you or I would have said at one time. All you can do is hope and pray that someday she will wake up like you did. As for fornication to them fornication in a physical sense isn't as bad a being a spiritual fornicator. She probably views you as a spiritual fornicator whatever that is. (Try making a mental picture of that). Anyway I hope some day she will wake up and realize the horrible things the watchtower does to familes. All you can do is keep loving her no matter what she believes. That is something the Watchtower has no understanding of.
i was thinking about how much fear there is among jehovah's witnesses in relating to each other.. if you could read the private thoughts of jw's, you'd probably be surprised at the level of fear they have of each other.. this fear is not likely to be the morbid kind of fear, but the other kind of fear that concerns "what will people think of me?".
you watched a movie at the weekend, it was rated pg, but you are afraid to tell your friends that you went to see it.. you were only able to report 4 hours of field service that month, but you are afraid to report this number so you tweak it.. you missed several meetings due to sickness, you still feel unwell, but you fear what the congregation may think so you force yourself to go.. you went on a weekend getaway, but you are afraid to tell the friends why you were missing that weekend in case they think you put kingdom interests last.. you watched a good book, but you are afraid to talk about it to your friends because they might be stumbled.. you heard of someone who got disfellowshipped but you are afraid to ask what happened.. you were unable to take friday off for the convention, but you fear what will be said about you.. you did not auxiliary pioneer during the memorial season and you are afraid people will think of you as spiritually weak.. .
not everyone will let these things bother them, but many do.. this climate of fear and worry about what the congregation may or may not think does not contribute to a loving atmosphere.. what other things can you think of that contribute to a climate of fear?.
I think you hit the nail on many heads Truthseeker. That was part of the reason I left. I just got tired of not being able to be myself without being viewed as weak or a danger to congregation. I don't think anyone but another exjw can relate to the weight that is lifted once you are out.
let me start by saying that i have posted here before about my wacko sister -in-law.
this time it is bad.
we recieved a phone call from my husbands father on friday night asking about how we were and what we were up to ,no biggie just odd since its only maybe the second time in over a year that he has called.
I would say that what she sent you definately qualifies as hate mail. I would contact the police. I would also contact the elders at the KH she attends. If she is that wacked out toward you I would think she also has rep at the KH as a nut case. I would also think they would want to get her under control if for no other reason than the "bad witness" she is giving to unbelievers.
looking back its amazing how many alcoholics i knew in the "borg"...................... there are 3 elders in my old hall alone........ that are full blown alcoholics...................... when, have you ever heard of someone.......anyone.......let alone and elder............ getting "dfed" for drinking too much?.
when i was at bethel........you wouldn't believe how much drinking was done there!.
there are stories of the old days ( russell & the judge)..where they would find guys passed out in front of the 124 building on sunday mornings........no big deal, just dust them off.............. and bring in.
In my case my education in alcohol went hand in hand with my study of the Truth Book. Once the person I was studing with got to know me we would often drink together. I think it may be the glue that holds the whole thing together. It keeps you from thinking clearly and can be used to drown your doubts.
this is my brother and me at my son's house last night (christmas).
the whole family was there, almost, that are not jw's anymore.
16 adults and 7 children.
Great picture! The Watchtower does so much to pull families apart it is nice to see the contrast of how Christmas can bring them together.
warning!
never buy rca products if you know what is good for you.
i had a dvd/vcr combo recorder that i bought brand new in april 2006. in november 2006 it died on me.
Here are some of the makes of DVD players I have had trouble with: Go Video which I think is a Sony product, Akai, Toshiba, and two portables by Astar and Mintek. I don't think the make them as good as the old VHS players. I can't believe all the problems I have had with them. Anyway I feel bad for you. If you can prove they received it through ups they will have to replace it. Good luck.
yes, folks, the all-wise, all-knowing, all-seeing watchtower society peers into and explores all possibilities of thought and logic.
yes, right back to our beginnings they look at how adam needed to determine who would serve as his companion ... and where did he search?.
"before god created anything new, a woman, god left the man free to determine whether there was a suitable companion for him among all the lower animals.
It’s amazing that God allegedly invited Adam to have sex with an animal but condemned him and the whole human race to death for eating a God dammed apple!
Maybe he was supposed to have sex with the apple not eat it.
yesterday pm while on gabbly two jw's came into my shop (former customers) with an overheating problem.. they saw my other copy of coc.
i asked what can we do for you?
they both were staring at the book, i noticed the car was spewing steam and coolant.
I love your attitude Hambeak. If they come back I guess you could tell them you have a 10% off false for prophets discount and ask them if they feel they qualify for it. That way you could see how far they will go to get something cheap. Just kidding, I feel sorry for them. They are wasting their lives for a pipe dream and not even a very good one if they think it through.
de judge hated christmas!
"i must find a way to keep christmas from coming!
i must stop christmas from coming!
That was great Mary, very funny. You should email a copy to the Watchtower perhaps they could use it in their next book for children.
